Great place to work. The manger is a great person to work for. When I can go up and visit I do because Iias them all. Plus I am a crafter.
It was a great environment and the management was excellent. I looked forward to going to work every day because I had customers who were regulars and made my day.
Good first job. This was a great first job to have. Managers would work with you if you wanted more hours. They were always willing to teach you new things or different departments to expand your knowledge at the store. I got promoted after one year there. Great atmosphere and great co workers too.
Only downside was the low pay. The managers mishandle almost all the workers. A good in between job or high school job. Moore was a good place to work. Not for starting your life, but is great if your in school or just looking for a job to keep you busy. It can be hectic if the store is busy but often enough it's pretty relaxed and easy going. Was very slow paced. Was a decent job but about to close so it got very slow towards the end too much stock not enough customers but had a fun variety of arts and crafts supplies. Okay for temporary work. PRO: management understands your pay is bad.
CON: they forget and will back pedal and say you never made the request off. So take pictures before you drop them in the slot. PRO: This is a good first retail job. PRO: a nice break room with snacks! Very rude. PRO: no toxic co-workers, at least when I worked there. Lastly, and this is personal, so you can decide for yourself whether or not this bothers you: One time, manager 1 was supposed to tell me the schedule changed and I worked a day I had off. That day comes and I get woken up by a phone call from manager 2. That never happened. I already had planned to do errands and make food for the week that day.
Management is upset about me not coming in on the day that was to my knowledge, an off day. TLDR: a good foot in the door to retail, but management is a mess. You might find a better foot in the door elsewhere. I liked the work at A.
It was fast paced and kept me on my toes. I also gained a little muscle from it. It was a very eye opening experience indeed. I prefer not to comment. I am still working there. And I prefer to reserve my comments. I don't have problems with the general manager, the cash office manager leaves much to be desired. Upper management really is not in touch with Jacksonville's needs and desires. Working at A. It's okay most days.. It's an okay job for someone wanting a job to make some decent money. I wouldn't plan to be here forever unless you realllly love working this kind of job It was my first job.
It taught me some about retail such as restocking and ringing on register. It taught me how to answer customers questions and how to handle certain situations. Very easy work and days flew by.
